About Us

Our History

Founded in 2006, LAHRA is a dynamic collective of HR professionals, ranging from newcomers to seasoned experts, representing various industries across the Livingston area. An affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and prides itself on offering quality speakers at its monthly program meetings, with an emphasis on topics that are approved for HRCI and SHRM recertification credits. Our members are the driving force behind our association, and we value the diversity of skills, experiences, and perspectives they bring.

Awards and Accolades

SHRM Excel Awards

SHRM recently awarded Livingston Area HR Association its prestigious EXCEL Platinum Award for the chapter’s accomplishments in 2024. The EXCEL award is given to state councils and chapters to recognize major accomplishments, strategic activities, and tactical initiatives that elevate the profession of human resources. LAHRA has been recipients of this award repeatedly over the years:

Volunteer Leader of the Year

The award recognizes the outstanding volunteer whose unselfish and dedicated service has made a significant difference in their role and mirrors the commitment to success in our professional chapters.
